Functional genome research is an important economic factor for Bavaria. As a key technology of this century it has entered almost all aspects of life. The exploration of function, interaction und regulation of human genes and gene products forms the basis for development of new methods for diagnostics and therapy of diseases. Within the Bavarian genome research network the Bavarian ministry of science, research and art supports seven projects of top level research in relevant and up to date fields of functional genome research
