| The Bavarian genome research network sees itself as a state specific, open research network in the field of genome research.
Amongst many other things, a chair for Biotechnology at Regensburg University is being funded by BayGene.
By now, 8 junior groups are working on current projects in the field of functional genome research at the Universities of Munich, Regensburg, Würzburg and Erlangen.
We are especially pleased about the four research groups that joined us
just recently in Regensburg, Würzburg and Erlangen.
The network strives to achieve association of other
scientific groups in genome research from the whole of Bavaria.
Important cooperation with industry already exist which you can find
out about under "partners :: partners in industry".
This conglomerated research effort bundled with the
initiative of the Bavarian Government is an important step in insuring
Bavaria's leading position in the national economic and scientific
competition.
